From Adriand Hodge, contact for Carrow Yacht Club:

I hope that some of the Harker’s Yard gigs will attend the Carrow Cup event. To date I am expecting 4 St Ayles skiffs, 3 Cornish pilot gigs, 1 Seax gig, 2 Spirit gigs, 1 Thames skiff.

As you will have gathered, launching is a bit of a problem. There are three possibilities:
1. Launching for a few boats at Norwich Rowing Club, but trailers must be manhandled.
2. Launch and trailer parking at Carrow Yacht Club. Slipway immediately opposite Norwich Rowing Club. Congested, but possible.
3. Launch at Griffin Marine, a commercial boatyard in Thorpe St Andrew, and row up river to the event.

I suggest Carrow Yacht Club as first choice for up to 5 gigs. NRC for the next 2or 3 and Griffin Marine if there are any more. These numbers are all flexible. I have not approached Griffin Marine, but some have launched there in previous years.

Location

Whitlingham Ln, Norwich NR14 8TS, UK
