We are an association of coastal rowing clubs in the East of England, who all own and race the Haker's Yard Gig, built by apprenticies from Pioneer Sailing Trust at Harker's Yard in Brightlingsea, Essex.

BCRC was formed in April 2011 by a small group of enthusiasts and has grown to approximately 50 members; the Club is open to anyone interested in getting afloat and enjoying some exercise in beautiful surroundings with like-minded people. Whether you’re competetive, or just want to get out in a boat and socialise, the Club will have a warm welcome for you.

Our aim is to get as many people as possible out rowing and racing our two beautiful Harkers Yard Gigs. We are regularly seen training at weekends down on The Hythe by The Queens Head.

We provide a wide range of rowing from sliding seat single sculls to a large four oared Harker's Yard Gig. We became affiliated to British Rowing in May 2013 and East Coast Rowing Association in 2014.

From competive sailboat racing and multi oar Rowing in Skiffs, to gentle cruising in both power and sailing boats - we have an active fishing section and a good number of canoeists!
