Time-keeping: Rowhedge / Maldon
Dear Harkers rowers,
We were really disappointed that the Marconi round had to be cancelled. It’s always a tough decision, but in this case was definitely the right one.
Please find below information for the Burnham race on the 21st of January:
10.00hrs- Boats launched from Burnham Yacht Harbour Foundry Lane, Burnham-on-Crouch, CM0 8BL. Please bring waders to launch your boats although there will be ramp-masters helping you.
Cars and trailers can be kept in the top car park at Burnham yacht harbour. Once launched boats will make their way to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club jetty. A tow is available on the water if you require one. There will be officials at the marina to point you in the right direction.
Please note that although you can walk from the marina to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, it is a 10- 15min walk.
There is ample parking at the Royal Burnham Yacht club for cars, but trailers must be left at the marina. No trailers will be admitted in the RBYC car park
10.00hrs- Registration will be held at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club which is just off the high street just past the Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant.
10.00hrs Bacon butties, tea and coffee will be available to purchase from 10am
11.00hrs- Race briefing at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club
12.00hrs- Ladies race
12.45hrs- Men’s race
13.30hrs- Mixed Race
Prize giving at the Royal Burnham Yacht Club will be conducted as soon as everyone has returned to the club. We aim to do this about 30mins after the last race and recover boats after the prize giving.
Hot food will be available from midday onwards.
Carvery lunch is also available; however you will need to book this in advance directly with the RBYC. You can call them on 01621 782044 or email info@rbyc.org.uk.
For more information on the race its self you can contact Dawn Wood on

boccrc@hotmail.comThe entrance to the Royal Burnham Yacht Club car park is not obviously marked. Although we provide signage on the day the below picture shows where to find it – just past the Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant.
By entering team captains agree to have their boats examined by race scrutineers and/or the safety marshals who may exclude any entry on safety grounds before, or during, the event.
Every boat must be covered by public liability insurance up to £2 million any one claim and for any loss, injury or damage to property or persons (including all persons aboard the craft)
All boats will have sufficient buoyancy aids or life jackets for all persons aboard and will be immediately accessible during the races. All coxswains will wear lifejackets and any crew under the age of 18 will wear lifejackets.
All boats will have a working VHF radio immediately available. Radios are not available for loan on the day.
Happy Rowing,
Dawn Wood
