NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the FOUNDING MEETING of THE HARKER’S YARD GIG ASSOCIATION (HYGA) will be held on Friday 27 September 2019 upstairs at Wivenhoe Sailing Club, Walter Radcliffe Rd, Wivenhoe, Colchester, CO7 9WS at 2030 for the following purposes:-

1. To adopt the Constitution of the HYGA ( https://harkersyardrowers.teamapp.com/documents/680528-hyga-draft-constitution )
3. To elect the officers of the HYGA
4. To choose a logo design for the HYGA

NOTE

Full details of the business of the meeting, including a list of founding members and names of nominees for election as officers are published below.

All individuals who row in Harker’s Yard Gigs are invited to attend the meeting and help choose the HYGA logo design.

Only Full Members of the HYGA will be permitted to vote in accordance with 3. part (g) of the Constitution.

All attending are encouraged to stay on for a celebratory drink at the WSC club bar.

BUSINESS OF THE MEETING

1. Welcome and introductions by the HYGA working group

2. Confirmation of the founding Full Members of the HYGA, those in attendance at the meeting, and the persons put forward by the founding Full Members to form the committee of the HYGA.

3. Motion to adopt the Constitution of the HYGA by the founding Full Members

4. Election of officers by a vote by Full Members in attendance:

Chairperson – no nomination received so position to be co-opted by the HYGA committee at its first meeting, in accordance with 5.(e) of the constitution

Secretary – no nomination received so position to be co-opted by the HYGA committee at its first meeting, in accordance with 5.(e) of the constitution

Honorary Treasurer – Sam Wood, Mersea Island Rowing Club

5. Choose a logo design for the HYGA based on submission to the logo competition.
